Millions of years of the Earth's grand history rose above me on all four sides, and its magic continued in watered reflection below me. Time, the great magician of our world, felt like the only currency I had left to offer -- mere fractions of pennies in the timeless grand magic of this river and land -- and I spent it heartily while reflecting on my place within it.
