Into The Wild Beauty

Into The Wild Beauty

"None of Nature's landscapes are ugly so long as they are wild." ~ John Muir

While touring Yellowstone National Park on a sub-zero morning at dawn, the combination of mostly cloudy skies along with an inversion of sorts, supported by masses of geyser steam, made for this amazingly breathtaking and mysterious view as the rising sun tried to break through the clouds and light up this patch of previously burnt forest. Generally speaking, no one on tours stops here, but I had the local photography resident of the park driving the tracked vehicle on this tour, and so with that wonderful knowledge of what magic can happen here, even in the ugliest places, she choose to park for 20 minutes, in what first seemed like the most unlikely of places.
