When rafting The Colorado River through The Grand Canyon, to think about the amount of water that flows at any given moment through its entire length is mind boggling; an exercise that is as futile as resisting the torrent you currently find yourself in. Better to embrace the here and now, for what has already flowed by is the past, and what is yet to come is the future, and the river cares little about those things, as should you. Rapid by rapid and moment by moment, all the water and life that will ever be is right now.

Unbeknownst to the parties on both of our rafts, Mac, the captain of our second raft, donned a special outfit just for the running of this final and crazy rapid on our river run. Before we entered the rapid, Mac turned some pants into a cape, put on some tiger-stripe tight wrestler shorts, some leggings over his sandals to simulate knee-high boot legs, with the final flair being his purple wig. After we successfully ran the rapids, Mac emerged from the raft's motor well to display his fine sense of fun fashion as a capstone to the greatest rapid on the river.
