The Bright Burn Of Autumn
"Autumn burned brightly, a running flame through the mountains, a torch flung to the trees." ~ Faith Baldwin
On Aztec Peak, on forest road 487 of the Tonto National Forest, driving between "The Falls" recreation site and the Workman Creek Falls themselves gives you a great sense of just how ruggedly beautiful this mountain is. In late October, as you drive the woods along the creek, it is easy feel the bright burn of Autumn, as if the forest were ablaze like torches flung to the trees, lighting the way to Winter.
