The Workman Tubs

The Workman Tubs

Off of Highway 288, along Workman Creek of Arizona's Tonto National Forest is a part of creek known as "The Tubs". The name is in reference to the series of smoothly bowled out pools that exist on each of the granite levels that make up this series of cascading waterfall; each pool about the size of a hot tub. I often visit this place, and each time I do, I find great peace under this Sycamore tree, down below at creek side. Workman Creek is stocked twice per year, with some being stocked here. On more than one occasion I have walked here from my place at "The Lazy J", to wash up after doing a lot of physical labor and/or to catch a fish or two for dinner. While this scene is photographed in October, as a special delight in August and September, I will also harvest and feast on the great many black berry bushes that thrive along this water, assuming the bears have not beat me to it.
