"And, of course, there's no denying that the bushman's life is rough, But a man can easy stand it if he's built of sterling stuff; Though it's seldom that the drover gets a bed of eiderdown, Yet the man who's born a bushman, he gets mighty sick of town, For he's jotting down the figures, and he's adding up the bills While his heart is simply aching for a sight of Southern hills." ~ A.B. " ~ Banjo" Paterson (1864-1941)
This is the Drover's Wool Shed from the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, and is the structure seen in last PhotoBlog with the Dodge Power Wagon (
http://johnmoreyphotography.com/698101345). This too has been processed in HDR, specifically as a black and white image. The tonal range allowed in this monochrome processing allowed me to pull in good tones throughout the highlights and the shadows. This image was specifically shot near a year ago with the intention of someday being used for HDR, like the Power Wagon image.
The last few PhotoBlogs have been around HDR editing. In most cases when going back to older images I usually don't have them perfectly bracketed, at least not 5 to 7 images specifically for the purpose of HDR processing, so I have had to make due with creating 5 to 7 exposures from the same RAW file at different exposure values and then blending them. In the case of the image above however, I had 7 bracketed images with 1/3 stops.
