Sit Still With Me
"Sit still with me in the shade of these green trees, which have no weightier thought than the withering of their leaves when autumn arrives, or the stretching of their many stiff fingers into the cold sky of the passing winter." ~ Fernando Pessoa
When I am weighted down with the day to day hustle of life, and all its concerns and considerations are like anchors being dragged through the dirt behind me, I am often reminded and yet always surprised by what a liberating experience it is to just sit still under the branches of an Aspen tree during the Autumn corrective. Indeed an hour or two under them as they let their richly colored leaves fall away about you is like having the weight of world lifted from your shoulders.
