Standing on a ledge above the Colorado River, with a drop-off of 3,000 feet straight down, is kind of an unnerving experience, and not for the faint of heart...on the margin of infinity
is A scene that relatively few people get to experience, this is the highest vertical drop in the Grand Canyon and whether you look east upriver, or west down river, the views are breathtaking. If you've ever spent time down below on the river, you would pass this part of the Grand Canyon just before the famous Lava Falls. I must admit, I've been on the edges of many cliffs in my life, including others over the Colorado River, like Horseshoe Bend which is 1800 feet straight down, and while I am deeply scared of heights, I've never had so much nervousness and caution as I've experienced at this most remote of all places on the Grand Canyon North Rim.
