"Don't let one cloud obliterate the whole sky." ~ Anais Nin

Photographed in Tempe, AZ., this interesting phenomena is more than just a cloud with cool light prisms. Its actually a far-drifted contrail from an early morning missile launch out of White Sands, NM.

In this view, the sunrise has not happened yet in Tempe, but the contrail is high enough in the sky to already be picking up just the right amount of back-lighting from the sun further East, which is what causes the specific prism colors in the vapor.
