The Richness Of Night Skies

At the base of Mt. Banner at Thousand Island Lake, in the Ansel Adams Wilderness, the day's light was gone while I am attempting to set my camera up for capturing the milky way later in the evening. While working some test shots, I found the cloudy sky to be richly colored, despite the absence of light that the human eye can see. Sometimes the unintended shot is one that turns out great, and when I snapped this one, the clouds kind of reminded of Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night"
