There Lingers Some Golden Spell
"The days may not be so bright and balmy—yet the quiet and melancholy that linger around them is fraught with glory. Over everything connected with autumn there lingers some golden spell—some unseen influence that penetrates the soul with its mysterious power." ~ Northern Advocate
Late November on the Mountain Fork River in Oklahoma, the rising sun's rays finally breach through the trees on the river bank, and begin to cast their golden touch upon the river bottom and opposite bank. Most of Autumn has peaked here, but along the river there lingers some golden spell, where still some pockets of colored futile resistance greet the day.
It was a pleasure to spend my day after Thanksgiving morning waking up and exploring this land and river, all part of my dear Aunt Jeanne's back yard of her cabin.
