House On Fire
The famous House on Fire Ruin, is a cluster of well preserved granaries which are one cliff-ruin out of several that comprise the handful of Puebloan Cliff Dwellings found in the South Fork of Mule Canyon, part of Cedar Mesa, Utah.
Of the 8 various ruins found in the area, the one most sought after for the purpose of photography is the House On Fire, owing its name to the colorful, streaked Cedar Mesa sandstone ceiling. This ceiling above the structure has fractured and weathered to create an unusual radial pattern, resembling flames, especially when illuminated by reflected sunlight during the right time of day.
