It was one of those days and started horribly and by the end I was full of laughter and mirth; another duality of which seems to be a common theme. Today's dualities balanced something ending with something starting; tethers severed while filaments of desire are bound; release and embrace. Completing my day with a glorious and stormy sunset seemed appropriate. While the rich sky fire was over for other onlookers, who had mostly departed, myself and some stragglers lingered to watch the flashes of the passing storm in the distance...far enough away to not provide the report of thunder. Knowing I can catch sunset color long after it has mostly passed with long exposures, I composed my storm and let the seconds tick by. In-between the long moments between the click of my shutter opening and the click of it closing, each long distance and silent lightning strike still got its report of thunder, as I would laugh or cheer with thunderous delight, each and every strike that I knew fell within the sweet spots of my framing. Sometimes the strike I knew I was catching would be so perfect in the frame, it could only be met with a strong fist-pump in the air with a resounding 'Oh YEAH!'. To any of the few that lingered nearby for their own lightning mirth, they certainly got a good show.
