Our Lady Of Guadalupe Moonshine

Our Lady Of Guadalupe Moonshine

Living in the historic downtown of Flagstaff, I am privy to a great deal of interesting architecture, and when it comes to churches, chapels, and missions, it has its share. I knew the first time I saw this chapel I would someday have a good reason to photograph it. Last night was that night, as my prior moonrise location shoot didn't pan out. I was on my way home, restless to get back to the task of my personal life, but yet felt nagged inside that it would be another month before I have this moon again and I need to focus. Then the idea of the chapel came to mind, but I kept driving. As I started to blow off the idea and passed the last convenient turn, the nagging niggle inside clawed at me some more...Trying to pay closer attention to those little niggles in my life and with a sigh of great discipline, I drove to the chapel. To my amazement, the moon was in the right place and ready to be shot. I pulled over, pushed my hunger and other considerations aside, and spent the next hour working the scene...in the end, it was the nourishment I needed...perhaps even healing.
