“Friendship that flows from the heart cannot be frozen by adversity, as the water that flows from the spring cannot congeal in winter.”

On the way up the trail before entering the chasm, Assistant Mike Harris stood on a part of the trail to catch his breath. While doing so, his ears picked up the faintest gurlging sound if he held his head in a certain way. The accoustics in the canyon can play tricks on you, but sure enough about 25 feet off the trail at the base of one canyon wall he found this spring bubbling forth. It was surprising how the sound carried all the way to us over the other sounds in the canyon. Mike immediately filled up his canteen and drank heartily.

What was also interesting about this spring water is that it came out of the mountain warmer than the outside air and nearby stream water...it was like room temperature, but still quite refreshing.
