Outside The West Fork
After hiking on the West Fork Trail of Oak Creek, outside of Sedona, Arizona, on highway 89a. I stopped to catch this road scene, and had to wait about half an hour for a break when no cars and no people were in view. During mid-October, this place goes crazy with incredible amounts of people all wanting to see some of the most beautiful Autumn colors to be found anywhere in the state. The parking lot fills quickly and people park up to half mile in each direction, anywhere they can find along the roadside where parking is allowed. To get this shot took some patience. Sadly, there wont be much of a season for that kind of thing, at least for the near future, as this place suffered from the recent Slide fire and the area remains closed due to erosion flooding risks during the Monsoon season.
