For Whom The Pale Moon Gleams
“We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dream. Wandering by lone sea breakers, and sitting by desolate streams. World losers and world forsakers, for whom the pale moon gleams. Yet we are movers and the shakers of the world forever it seems.” ~ Arthur William Edgar O'Shaughnessy
Every year in mid-March the Turkey Vultures migrate back North and scores of them are easily found during this time roosting at Boyce Thompson Arboretum, just outside of Superior, Arizona. At first light, most of the vultures roosting in trees make their way to the nearby buttes, where they sit with their wings stretched awaiting the sun to warm up the day's air for thermals that they can soar on. Once that happens, nearly all these movers and shakers within a period of 5 minutes fly off in search of their daily duties to keep the desert clean.
