My first scouting mission to "The Wave" of Coyote Buttes and the first for my companions as well. Approximately 2/3rds of this sometimes sinister hike is without the comfort of any sort of discernible trail, as you hike across a couple of miles of sandstone slick rock hoping your GPS doesn't fail you.
