A Lovely Beauty
"Every once in awhile a rare, lonely, and lovely beauty like this wildflower crosses my path. When this occurs I am moved, not just in admiration of her simple and delicate, yet bold beauty, but also by the infrequency of such an event, and I am compelled to delve in searching for all I can know about her. Why does she survive alone, lost in a world of things far more noticeable. Why have I not known others like her? What does she offer the world, and who would miss her?
Like the hummingbird who cherishes each drink of nourishment from a flower such as this, I cherish the nourishing bits of delight you provide me, and I want to drink you in more." ~ J. Bruce Morey II
I found this lovely beauty right after a thunderstorm in the Grand Canyon, North Rim, while hiking the upper parts of the Kaibab trail. Shot around 7500' elevation. My best guess at an ID is the Arizona Wild Honeysuckle.
