“Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit” ~ Edward Abbey

When I first heard about the opportunity to backpack and explore the Ansel Adams Wilderness with some of my fellow photography peers, in California's Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, there was not one moment of hesitation to be involved. At the time of planning, it felt very much like it would be a luxury, which I had to figure out how to manage with my time and other responsibilities to make happen. However in retrospect, as which so often happens with me, I discover later after the experience that it really was a necessary action to preserve my human spirit in tact.
