It was a real pleasure taking "Spirit" on her first Jeep adventure up to Northern Arizona's Grand Canyon, North Rim. She is a mix of Border Collie and Australian Shepard, a double dose of herding traits, so when I found this old rustic ranch setting to photograph her in, I could finally see her shine in a setting she was bred to excel in. I liked capturing this image of her in black and white to accentuate the seeming timelessness of this dog's role in ranching.
