Golden Spell Upon The Soul
"The days may not be so bright and balmy—yet the quiet and melancholy that linger around them is fraught with glory. Over everything connected with autumn there lingers some golden spell—some unseen influence that penetrates the soul with its mysterious power." ~ Northern Advocate
On Aztec Peak, off of forest road 487 of the Tonto National Forest, I drove to Workman creek at "The Falls" recreation site and bounded around the creek exploring. This is how most people enjoy the Autumn harmony and luster of being creek-side, and to those adventurous types, a difficult hike upstream for the next hour or so can get you to the base of the 180 foot Workman Creek falls. To those that put in the labor, about 40 minutes upstream from the recreation site is a favorite scene of mine. On this particular morning, early in the Autumnal cycle, I captured the golden richness of the sun's back-lighting through the trees on the creek, radiating with a luster only found in October.
